U.S. - Excitement is running high for Toy Story 4 as its first full trailer debuted today, and no one is more excited than Christians, who are finally getting a shout-out in the form of newcomer Bibleman: the action figure.
Bibleman will star alongside Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the gang, offering biblical solutions to the toys' predicaments as everyone else flounders in pragmatism and secular approaches to their problems.
In one powerful scene, Woody is worrying about his place in the toy world, and Bibleman comes along to quote Philippians 4:6-7 to him: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
The religious hero begins a youth group for the aliens, playing ping-pong and hacky sack with them to build some bridges before he presents the gospel and presses them to make a decision for Christ.
Of course, not all the toys adjust well to having a hardcore Jesus freak among their ranks, and Bibleman is persecuted for his faith after he refuses to bake a cake for a pair of gay Ken dolls.
