TWIN FALLS, ID — A thoughtful husband is being recognized for purposely doing numerous things wrong because he knows how much his wife loves nagging.
Mark Garcia is always thinking of his wife, Melissa, and trying to come up with ways to bless her and make her day better. After one full year of trying to serve his wife's every desire, he slowly realized that what she really wants is to nag her husband to death.
"At first, I tried to do acts of service with excellence," said Mark. "I would always pick up my socks and hang up my used bath towels. I would fold laundry like it's on sale at a department store. I would cook gourmet dinners. I would be very attentive with the children. But what I came to realize is that she didn't want any of that. What she really wants is for me to do those things poorly, so she can nag me about all the things I do wrong."
"I burned the rib roast on purpose last night. I even left our little Timmy at the park after dark two weeks ago. In fact, I'm starting to run out of ideas of things I can screw up to give her something to nag about. My wife has never been happier."
"Oh, Mark is just the worst," said Melissa to reporters. "He always screws up everything, and I just love — I mean, I hate it."
At publishing time, Mark suggested with a twinkle in his eye to his wife that they should have a date night, but that he wanted her to pick everything and make all the reservations.
