U.S. — Socialists around the country voiced their deep criticism this week of Elon Musk's plan to voluntarily redistribute his wealth to the nation's children.
Musk announced this week that he would be donating a share of his SpaceX stock to every child in America when the stock becomes available to him next year. The move was immediately condemned by America's socialist population, who want Musk to be taxed more than he's already paying.
"How dare he," said self-described democratic socialist Calista Renata. "Elon only wants to make people reliant on him and to think he is benevolent. Only the government should have the power to redistribute wealth. Plus, redistribution is only supposed to be done forcibly by tax agents armed with guns. None of this is right."
Socialists continue to express confusion and anger at the idea of a private citizen giving his own wealth to young kids. "Elon should be giving that money to the government as taxes instead of to children," cried local man Taylor DeMarcus. "Individuals should not have so much wealth that they can just give it away. They must be taxed their fair share by the government, and then let the government do the giving away. Doing it yourself is evil and terrible."
At publishing time, the socialists had further condemned Musk for giving kids a share of a company that employs people instead of just cash.
