VATICAN CITY — Blue smoke rose from the roof of the Sistine Chapel on Friday, signaling that Pope Leo XIV had voted for a third term for Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.
Loud cheers rung out from St. Peter's Square as the faithful watched blue smoke rise into the sky. Cardinal Dominque appeared on the central balcony of St. Peter's Basilica and announced, "Habemus Suffragium!" (We have a vote!)
Cries of "Viva il voto del Papa!" (Long live the vote of the pope!) could be heard throughout the square. Moments later the Pope himself appeared to give the papal wave.
Officially, the pope's vote is kept secret, but the blue smoke kind of gives it away.
"This is the first time a pope has ever voted in an American election. We didn't know the smoke would turn blue," admitted Matteo Bruni, Director of the Holy See Press Office. "But it was pretty neat."
At publishing time, the Illinois State Board of Elections confirmed they had not received the pope's mail-in ballot, since he had thrown it into a fire for some reason.
Tucker Carlson is just asking questions about World War 2. Why was it even fought? Was Hitler really such a bad guy? And why did Churchill never denounce the trans agenda?
