DAYTONA BEACH, FL — Local serial killer Lester Carlisle told his friends that there's nothing he enjoys more than unwinding after a long day by taking a hot bubble bath with a nice drink and his favorite podcast about the lives of housewives.
Getting away from the busyness of his hectic life and settling in for a sordid story about a white suburban soccer mom had become his favorite pastime, Carlisle said. Or second favorite, behind murdering.
"I'm addicted to these podcasts," Carlisle said. "It's how I relax. People think serial killing is all glamour and fun, but sometimes it's hard work. I love listening to these podcasts about the everyday lives of housewives."
Carlisle told his friends that he usually listens to two or three hours of podcasts about housewives every day and admitted that it had become somewhat of a guilty pleasure.
"I know there is better content I could be consuming, but these things are so entertaining, I just can't help myself," he said. "My wife thinks it's a little disturbing and is always encouraging me to listen to something else, but I just always want to know what happens next in the stories."
At publishing time, Carlisle said he was going to branch out and start listening to more podcasts about normal stuff, like last year's season of The Bachelor or maybe one about gardening.
