ATLANTA — Local man Brandon Haden reportedly wowed friends and family this week with a surprise trip to the exotic Mexican city of Puerto Vallarta, which he had purchased at a killer discount.
"They were practically giving these tickets away for some reason!" Haden said after scoring the incredible deal. "It's like it's too good to be true!"
According to data from online travel websites, Haden booked round-trip tickets to Puerto Vallarta for just $49.98 a person, almost 90% off the standard price. The ticket price also included an all-expenses-paid stay at a local resort, which was included for some reason.
"Obviously, it was an incredible deal, and I had to jump on it," he later shared with colleagues. "And I don't mean to brag, but I've been using Duolingo for two years to learn Spanish and can already say 'hello.'"
Though initially suspicious of their good fortune, Haden's wife decided she could really use a relaxing week of sunbathing on a tropical beach without a care in the world. "I heard it's one of the safest places in Mexico. I definitely don't need to check out what's going on in the area right now," she said.
At publishing time, the Haden family had gone missing.
