LOS ANGELES — Alan Maxwell recently entered day seven of a simple task that would take most normal adults no more than 15 minutes to complete.
According to sources, it all started a week ago when his wife asked him to change the HVAC air filters — a task that the average male could complete in 10 to 15 minutes with even the slightest bit of motivation.
"I was about to get started on it, then I noticed the Lakers game was about to tip off," said Maxwell. "I didn't want to leave the job half-finished, so I figured I'd do it after the game."
However, sources reported that after the game, Maxwell fell asleep on the couch with a half-empty bottle of Coors in his hand. Over the course of the next week, Maxwell was unmoved by a series of "honey-do" post-it note reminders from his wife, placed strategically on the refrigerator, television, and PS5 video game console.
"I don't want to be a nag, but this is getting ridiculous," said Maxwell's wife, Erica. "I'd do it myself, but I still have to finish the laundry, cook dinner, do the dishes, walk the dog, and prepare the kids' lunches for tomorrow. Hopefully, he finishes his Diablo IV mission in time to replace those air filters before bed."
At publishing time, Maxwell announced that he was definitely going to replace the air filters right after he finished watching this hilarious Instagram video.
