LAS VEGAS, NV — Singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson's hit new single "I'd Like To Speak To Your Manager" is now available on Apple Music and Spotify.
Written in a flurry after she was told she couldn't buy a mechanical bird at Brooklyn store Art of Play, Clarkson said it's her most personal and emotional song yet.
"This song is for all of the little people who 'the man' won't let buy $15,000 toys," the singer said. "I am one of you!"
In "I'd Like To Speak To Your Manager", Clarkson sings out what she only wished she had the guts to tell the employees of Art of Play at the time:
You made a real big mistake,
a big, big mistake
You're gonna hear about it,
About it, it, it
On my song!
On my song!
On my song-ong-ong-ong!
Clarkson, who won the first-ever season of American Idol in 2002 and went on to host The Kelly Clarkson Show for seven seasons, called the song healing. "The money I get from this single will make not owning that bird hurt less," she said.
At publishing time, "I Want To Talk To Your Manager" is ranked number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
