SAN ANTONIO, TX - In an effort to expand his following among 2-to-4-year-olds, prophecy expert and pastor John Hagee released his first children's book Friday, the much-anticipated Goodnight Blood Moon.
The book will convey Hagee's patented take on dispensational prophecy in a simple, easy-to-read format that's "perfect for freaking your kids out at bed time."
Hagee read a sample to a children's Bible class on release day: "Goodnight blood moon. Goodnight dispensation of grace. Goodnight astronomical signs that may or may not have anything to do with biblical prophecy." The text is accompanied by horrifying illustrations of the apocalyptic prophecies from the books of Revelation and Daniel, including a seven-headed beast and Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots.
In addition to the children's book, Hagee will be rolling out a study guide, a set of seven accompanying DVDs, and various gift editions, including Goodnight Blood Moon for Teens, Goodnight Blood Moon for Pastors, and Goodnight Blood Moon for Amillennialists.
The publisher reported it expects the book and associated merchandise to sell somewhere around 4 million copies.
