SAN DIEGO, CA — One attendee of the largest pop culture gathering of the year found himself in hot water, as a guy groping women at Comic Con swore he was just cosplaying as Pedro Pascal.
After multiple women complained about being groped on the convention floor, Comic Con security tracked down the alleged culprit. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Brian Grant, said he was dressed as actor Pedro Pascal and only trying to "get into character."
"I'm just doing the same stuff he does," Grant protested during questioning. "I wanted to come to the convention as Pedro Pascal, and fondling women is one of his most identifiable characteristics. I just don't think I'd be able to accurately pull off the Pedro Pascal character if I wasn't out there getting handsy with the ladies. It wouldn't be the same. I might as well just walk around cosplaying as Mr. Fantastic like a moron. Nah, I need to feel up some honeys."
Despite the objections he received from female convention guests, Grant's performance did draw some compliments. "I did have to do a double-take," said Kelly Porter, who was dressed as Wonder Woman when she was groped by Grant. "I felt someone grab my backside, and when I whipped around to see who did it, I thought, ‘Wait, is that Pedro Pascal?' But I realized it wasn't. He had me going for a second, though."
At publishing time, Grant had avoided being kicked out of the convention by explaining to security guards that his social anxiety made it necessary for him to grope women.
