WASHINGTON, D.C. — In his first public statement since testifying before a senatorial committee, Dr. Anthony Fauci said misleading the American people on the potential dangers of the COVID vaccine, particularly as it pertains to the risk of miscarriages among pregnant women, was necessary so he could meet Sandra Bullock.
When Dr. Fauci appeared before the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on July 29, he invoked his fifth amendment privilege to avoid the possibility of self-incrimination. However, he has since said he regretted not being able to comment on Sandra Bullock directly.
"Sandra Bullock is a star. It's not just me that's saying that, it's science," Dr. Fauci said on CNN Wednesday. "And you know, she was in Miss Congeniality. According to the science, that's the best movie ever made."
"I just think it's important the American people know that," he said.
Bullock, star of 1995's The Net, reportedly holds a restraining order against Dr. Fauci and declined to comment.
Senator Rand Paul, who was famously frustrated by Fauci's refusal to answer questions in committee, said he hopes to subpoena the former NIAID director to talk more about Bullock.
"I like Sandra Bullock too, but Miss Congeniality as her best movie? I don't think so for a second. Everyone knows her best movie is While You Were Sleeping," Paul said. "Bill Pullman was in it! What a smoke show!"
At publishing time, Dr. Anthony Fauci refused to answer questions related to Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.
