LITTLE ROCK, AR — Congregants at a local church were witnesses to a remarkable event, as a man who had been thought to have died was revealed to have only fallen asleep during the pastor's sermon.

Harold Matthews, a longtime member of Covenant Baptist Church, caused a stir during last Sunday morning's service, as people around him noticed him slumped over in the back pew partway through Pastor Paul Leeper's message before crying out for help.

"Fear not!" Pastor Leeper responded to the distraught members of the congregation. "Behold, he is not dead, but merely sleeping. Arise, Harold!"

Shouts of joy rang out among the crowd as Matthews was startled awake and leapt up from his seat to find everyone staring at him. "We feared the worst," one witness said. "He looked completely lifeless. What started as a moment of profound sorrow was turned into celebration. For our dear Harold, who was thought dead, was alive! He was lost in slumber, but has now been found awake!"

News of the incident spread quickly throughout town, with crowds of curious people flocking to the church to catch a glimpse of the man who had been raised from his nap.
