WORLD — Across the globe this past weekend, dozens of people had the great fortune to hear someone shouting "God is the greatest!" in Arabic, a sure sign that something really good was happening.
People in Berlin, New York City, and Paris were treated in recent days to the happy Arabic proclamation of God's greatness, leaving passersby looking around for what wonderful thing was transpiring.
"Oh, listen, kids! That man with the machete is shouting how great his God is. Some delightful happening must be underway," said local man Brent Warner. "Wow, it looks like he's going to tell some people at the synagogue about whatever marvelous thing is going on. Let's go watch."
Across the globe, Germans gathered for an LGBT event also happily learned that something splendid and praiseworthy was occurring. "Hey everyone, did you hear? A man is shouting out his car window in Arabic that God is the greatest. How exciting," said local man Felix Schmidt. "There must be something really neat and fun going on. I hope we get to see what it is!"
At publishing time, the streets of Paris had been alerted that something incredible was taking place as a man was waving a knife and screaming in Arabic about his God's greatness.
