It's all the rage these days — well-known villains getting the hero treatment with origin stories that show how misunderstood they've been all the time. But what other classic bad guys could benefit from this fad?

The Babylon Bee has compiled the following list of villains who need their own sympathetic prequels:

  1. Patrick Mahomes: Tearing his ACL is only the first chapter of his redemption story.

  2. The shape-shifting parasitic extraterrestrial from The Thing: Little do people know, the Thing was abandoned in an orphanage when he was only 9 years old.

  3. Clippy: Once thought irredeemable, people will finally see that he only wanted to help.

  4. Anton Chigurh: Victimized by the world's worst haircut, he had no choice but to carry out shocking acts of violence.

  5. Judas Iscariot: He just wanted the Messiah to get rid of Roman oppression. Is that so bad?

  6. The T-Rex from Jurassic Park: When a dinosaur is hungry, it needs to eat. It's being a monster, it's just science.

  7. Darth Vader: Since no Star Wars movies have been made since Return of the Jedi, what the world really needs is a trilogy of movies set before the original films and showing how Anakin Skywalker became evil. Make it happen, Disney.

  8. Skylar White: The worst person from Breaking Bad could potentially be retconned into a sympathetic figure. Somehow.

  9. Satan: The heroic tale Hollywood has been dying to tell all along.

See, when you see what they've gone through, they're really the good guys. What other misunderstood villains should get the movie hero treatment? Post your suggestions in the comments.
