PROVO, UT — Local woman Denise Stanford expressed concern that her husband, Mike, had yet to begin even thinking about her August 26th birthday.
Despite Stanford dropping several hints that her birthday was just four months away, her husband had shown no signs of preparation whatsoever.
"What is he even doing?" sighed Stanford, watching as her husband silently read a book. "Does he not even know when my birthday is? How can he sit around reading a book like Orthodoxy when my birthday is coming up in only 145 days? He's not searching for gifts, asking about restaurants, nothing. Just sitting there, flipping pages, like August 26th doesn't even exist. Does he even care about me at all?"
With her husband continuing to ignore the impending birthday, Stanford was forced to resort to more obvious hints. "August sure would be a great time to go to a winery," said Stanford.
"Yup," responded Mr. Stanford, still staring at his book.
"YUP? Are you serious? DO YOU EVEN LOVE ME?" cried Mrs. Stanford, weeping as she ran out of the room.
At publishing time, Denise Stanford had spray-painted "8/26" on the garage door.
