Last night, I texted Joel to get our Roe v. Wade stories ready for the morning. He's on East Coast time and I'm a lazy West Coaster. 

My eloquent message at 3 am: "If roe gets overturned before I wake up can you post the 198th trimester article plz"

I wasn't prepared for waking up at 7:08, glancing at Twitter and seeing that a new ruling was coming down in 2 minutes, and before I'd brushed my teeth, Roe had been overturned.

I was on my phone, sobbing, in bed, reading the headlines. It doesn't feel real. Thank you, justices. Thank you, activists who have been in the fight for so long. And thank you, God, for your truth always advances, and the shadow must give way to the light.
