WASHINGTON, D.C. — White House aides were reportedly caught off guard today as President Donald Trump abruptly dimmed the lights in the Oval Office and forced the visiting South African president to watch the entirety of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in the United States on May 19, but said this was the first time anyone had confronted him about watching the 1992 box office smash.

"It's a great film. I'm in it. If you know what's good for your country, you'll watch it," Trump said as he motioned for aides to pop a VHS tape into the Oval Office VCR. "Some people say it's even better than the first movie. Is it because I'm in it? I don't know. Some people think so. You'll just have to find out for yourself."

Though witnesses reportedly did not hear Ramaphosa agree to watch the film, they said the South African president appeared to remain in good spirits throughout the viewing.

"Oh! It's you! There you are!" Ramaphosa said while excitedly pointing at the screen during Trump's brief on-screen cameo. "You are the acting!"

According to sources, reporters were ushered out of the room shortly after the cameo as Trump launched into an hour-long story about how he ended up in the movie.

At publishing time, President Trump explained to Ramaphosa that though he hadn't been offered a role in Home Alone 3, he would have refused if asked. "Absolutely terrible movie," he said. "What happened to Kevin? There was no Kevin. Everyone involved was a total loser and never worked again. They got it all wrong."
