MADRID — With the borders of its territories overwhelmed this morning by tens of thousands of young Moroccan migrants, Spain turned to veteran Border Czar Kamala Harris for guidance as to how to stop the invasion.
Watching in horror as thousands of military-age males poured over security checkpoints into Spanish territory, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez knew there was only one person to call.
"Get me Kamala," cried Sanchez. "I want her on a plane to Madrid by this afternoon. She is the only person on this planet who has ever been a Border Czar before. No one is more experienced with violent migrant surges like this. Kamala will know how to handle this."
According to aides, Sanchez connected with Harris on the phone to coordinate his initial response to the crisis. "At Kamala's instruction, we have already ordered the military not to help secure the border and promised to not prosecute any one who crosses illegally," said aide Benicio Lopez. "I confess, I am unsure how this helps our cause, but we are trusting in her plan. She's done this far more than any of us."
At publishing time, Harris had agreed to board a plane to Madrid to head up the response, requesting only that it be stocked with 73 bottles of Tempranillo for the journey.
