Miracle: Worship Leader Plays Hymn As It Was Written

TULSA, OK — Congregants at a local church were witnesses to what many people described as a divine act as the worship leader somehow managed to play an entire hymn exactly as it was written.

The miraculous event occurred during yesterday's morning service, as Covenant Grace Church worship leader Jeff Stringer started — and completed — "Amazing Grace" without changing any melodies, adding any bridges, or breaking for any guitar solos. Attendees said the experience was surreal but served as a stark reminder of God's love for them.

"This is something I never thought I would ever see in real life," said Covenant Grace member Paul Davidson. "We were enjoying our time with the Lord, the worship team was doing a beautiful job, and when he started with ‘Amazing Grace,' we all just assumed it would be some goofy modernized version. But… it wasn't. He played it exactly the way it was written. It was as though the clouds parted and we all felt the Lord's embrace."

Stringer discussed the event following the service. "I don't know how it happened," he said. "It's not something I could do under my own strength, that's for sure. Doing that could only be an absolute act of God, right here in our midst. I'm sure some people will refuse to believe it when they hear about it… but it happened. Praise God… it really happened."

At publishing time, the congregation thought they might be on the verge of witnessing yet another miracle, as it appeared the pastor's sermon may end on time, but he ended up going 15 minutes over.
