I'm sitting here with my second cup of coffee, shreds of wrapping paper all over the floor, and a slight ham-and-mashed-potatoes hangover. Christmas was wonderful at the Mann household. Children opened gifts and reacted joyfully, adults opened gifts and tried to act surprised even though they had seen the Amazon shipping notification weeks before. Cats played with wrapping paper. The aforementioned children had breakdowns and had to be put down for naps but then sprang right back up for more in the afternoon.
Despite government lockdowns, media-driven fear, and a nation being ripped apart on the outside, on the inside of homes all across America, Christmas happened. I hope it was a great time with your family and a reminder that the world is truly a good and magical place.
