DALLAS, TX — Local man Jim Reese honored the fallen this Memorial Day by purchasing a Whirlpool refrigerator at an incredible 47% discount.
Reese spent the morning deciding if he should remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country by going to Lowe's, Home Depot, or perhaps even Best Buy.
"This is for all those who paid the price for our freedom," said Reese as he handed his credit card to the cashier. "I can think of no better way to esteem their memory than to buy a high-quality Whirlpool refrigerator at a steep discount. Thank you, heroes. You are gone but not forgotten."
Several witnesses at Lowe's stopped for a moment of silence as the employees loaded the refrigerator on a dolly and walked it out to Reese's truck. "It's just so touching," said Abigail Marsh, tears streaming down her face. "Seeing him get an absolute steal on a 25 cubic ft. refrigerator with French doors, it really reminds you of all those that gave the final measure. It's like hearing 'Taps' being played."
At publishing time, Reese had decided to further honor the fallen with a new microwave.
