NAVASOTA, TX — Local grandma Susan Fields announced to her family that she had finally gotten with the times and made a profile on "that MyFace thing."
After years of resisting joining any form of social media, Fields finally decided to join MyFace to connect with her grandchildren and see what the youths are up to these days.
"Did you know that you can join groups on MyFace?" Fields asked her daughter, Amanda. "They have all these neat recommendations for you, like I just typed in the word 'health', and it had all these groups with people talking about health. Some of them were led by real experts, I mean top-notch people. There was a whole page about beet juice and how good it is for you. Have you tried beet juice?"
According to family members, Fields spent the better part of Monday setting up her profile, laboring over what to include for her interests and hobbies. "What's the difference between an interest and a hobby on MyFace?" queried Fields, having called her daughter for advice. "It says there's a way to put a link to my blog. Do I have to have a blog? This is so interesting, seeing what all you kids do on here."
At publishing time, Fields had asked if her daughter could please come over to take a nice picture of her face for her profile picture.
