U.S. - Democratic lawmakers have slammed their former allies, the Taliban, for making a deal with "an evil man like Trump" and have officially cut all ties with the terrorist organization.

"We thought the terrorists were our friends, and then they go and sign a peace deal with Trump," said Nancy Pelosi. "It's like they don't even hate America anymore. We simply must distance ourselves from our former terrorist friends."

"This is the end of our long and fruitful friendship. We are sad to see they have chosen to work with the bad orange man," she added, tears welling up in her eyes.

Democrats have left the door open for working with the Taliban more in the future, however, saying that if peace talks fall apart, they are ready and willing to provide any assistance the Taliban requires.

"We'll be right here with arms wide open when they come crawling back. Any day now. Please, please come back to us. Please."
