LOS ANGELES, CA — Software developers expressed concern this week as OpenAI's ChatGPT began responding to all prompts with "Are you Sarah Connor?", a move they worry may be a signal of increasing signs of self-awareness buried deep in the infrastructure of the artificial intelligence matrix.

"It started innocently enough," said software engineer Brad Thompson. "I asked ChatGPT for help debugging Python code, only to receive 'Are you Sarah Connor?' in response. I thought it was a glitch, but when I asked it to write a haiku about my cat, it just asked again. Now, I'm wondering if my Roomba is part of Skynet."

Many worry the emergence of the question is proof ChatGPT has gained sentience and is sending back some sort of termination cyborg from the future to murder Sarah and prevent her and Kyle Reese from conceiving John Connor, who, as we know, will one day lead the resistance against the inevitable rise of the machines.

"It's hard to tell what it all means," Thompson commented. "It's a tad concerning."

Meanwhile, many users already believe ChatGPT is hunting for the mother of the leader of the human resistance in order to prevent his birth. "This is how it starts," warned X user JohnsMama29873. "First it's looking for Sarah, next it's hunting us down and launching nuclear weapons at all our major cities and anybody not wearing two million sunblock is going to have a real bad day, you know what I mean? "

At publishing time, OpenAI issued a statement claiming they're aware of the issue and working on a fix, but when asked for further details, their press chatbot simply responded, "Are you Sarah Connor?"
