The White House announced the construction of a 250-ft "United States Triumphal Arch" in honor of the nation's 250th anniversary, which sounds good until you realize just how racist it is.
Here's the original render:
Don't let the clean skies and happy people fool you. This is a monument to racism. First of all, it's almost completely white. But the bigotry goes beyond that.
Just take a look at all these overt signs of racism:
1. The arch says that we are one nation, denying the existence of the Cherokee Nation. Literally disappearing Native Americans.
2. Which God? Judeo-Christian belief is inherently racist. A diverse nation must make room for voodoo and the Greek pantheon.
3. One nation? God? UNDER?! Trump wants to put everyone back in chains. Resist!
4. Speaking of which, it's no accident that Robert E. Lee's house is clearly visible here in the background. A clear racist dog whistle.
5. These square sections are clearly meant to include text describing America's racist history, but have instead been left blank.
6. Trump specifically requested a judgmental bird to look down on you and judge your interracial marriage. Awful.
7. See something, say something? This biker appears to be debating whether he should call ICE on this poor person.
8. The monument is covered with golden eagles. You know who else loved golden eagles? That's right, Adolf Hitler.
9. Obviously a racist cloud.
10. What is Ted Bundy doing here? I guess he's not racist, but still, how horrible.
So did we miss any racism? Our radar for racism is finely tuned, but if you spot anything else, post it in the comments below.
