ATLANTA, GA — A local Baptist church attracted attention this weekend for throwing a potluck that was awarded a prestigious Michelin star.
Michelin inspectors disguised as church visitors reportedly crashed the monthly potluck to sample the food and came away impressed, noting that the First Baptist Church potluck had excellent cooking and was well worth a detour.
"If you're in town on the second Sunday of the month, be sure to stop by for this top-tier quality Baptist potluck," the Michelin Guide report read. "The casseroles here will blow your mind."
This marked the first time in the guide's history that a church potluck was recognized for its culinary excellence. According to the inspectors, the old ladies at the church had outdone themselves, turning their potluck into a premium destination travelers should make a special trip for.
"Widow Susan's Chicken Spaghetti Casserole is a vision and must be tasted to be believed," the Michelin Guide reported. "And be sure to save room for the Tuna Noodle Casserole. It sounds grotesque, but it's guaranteed to change your life."
At publishing time, First Baptist Church had reported that the line to get into last Sunday morning's service had stretched around the block.
