This notice supplements our Privacy Policy for California residents and describes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (“CCPA”). Babylon Bee, LLC is responsible for the processing described here. The main policy explains our recipients, retention and backups, and website privacy choices.

Personal Information includes information reasonably linkable to a person or household. Publicly available, de-identified and aggregated information is excluded only to the extent the CCPA’s definitions and conditions apply. Other legal exceptions apply to particular information or activities; they do not generally exempt all household information or all information used in journalism.

The table below describes the categories of Personal Information we collected during the twelve months preceding the Last Updated date of this notice. Collection depends on the features you use, information you submit and applicable privacy choices. Examples describe information relevant to our services rather than every item in each statutory category. Content you choose to submit may contain additional information about you or others; do not submit information that is unnecessary for the feature you use.

Disclosures during the preceding twelve months

We disclosed information for the operational purposes described below. Category letters refer to the table above; a provider receives information relevant to its function, not necessarily every item within a category.

• Cloud hosting and database providers: Account and contact information, subscription and transaction records, technical information, and stored content and credentials (A, B, D, F, G and L; C, H and I when included in submitted content). These providers store and process information to operate the service.
• Network delivery and security providers, including Cloudflare: Online identifiers, connection and request information, and approximate location (A, F and G), to deliver traffic and protect the service.
• Email delivery providers: Names, email addresses and communication preferences (A and B), to deliver our newsletters, marketing and account messages and honor email preferences.
• Payment processors: Contact, billing, payment-method and transaction information (A, B and D), to process subscriptions, payments and related transactions.
• Analytics, diagnostics and media providers: Online identifiers, device and usage information and approximate location (A, F and G), according to the enabled service and privacy choices, to measure use, diagnose errors and deliver media. Media hosting also processes uploaded images, audio or video (H) when submitted. The main policy separately explains app crash reporting.

Sources, purposes and recipients

We obtain information directly from you through accounts, purchases, content and correspondence, including offline interactions; automatically through website and app technologies; and from service providers and other third parties described in our Privacy Policy. We use it to provide requested services, manage accounts and billing, communicate with you, maintain security, honor privacy requests, comply with law, and provide analytics and marketing subject to the choices described there.

Our cloud hosting and database providers and Cloudflare process information to operate and secure the service. Other providers support communications, analytics, payments and related operations. Providers acting on our behalf are subject to applicable contractual and legal restrictions. Independent advertising and media partners can have different roles and purposes, as explained in the disclosure section.

Starting September 17, 2026, Retention.com address matching requires a separate opt-in, rather than general acceptance of website cookies. This new restriction applies going forward; the preceding-twelve-month descriptions above cover the earlier practices. See Optional address-matched offers.

Sales, sharing and your opt-out

During the preceding twelve months, enabled website advertising technologies made online identifiers, browsing or interaction information and approximate location (A, F and G) available to advertising networks, bidders and advertising measurement providers. These providers can derive interests or preferences from that activity (K). Such advertising disclosures can constitute sale or sharing under California law even without a customer-list transfer or monetary payment, and are covered by our sale/sharing opt-out. This describes advertising technology, not the use of additional billing information or sensitive personal beliefs to target our email marketing.

We do not sell or hand our mailing list or customer records to sponsors; our Email Marketing section explains our use of names, email addresses and subscriber status, and the separation of additional billing information from marketing targeting. Advertising technology can transmit information from your browser to advertising providers without a customer-list transfer.

Use Your Privacy Choices, send Global Privacy Control (GPC), or email privacy@babylonbee.com to opt out. You do not need an account or the identity verification required for access and deletion. Authorized agents can act with evidence of permission. We use information submitted with an opt-out to review and fulfill it. The main policy explains California’s default-off website controls, GPC, saved account choices and separate email opt-outs; your California rights do not depend solely on our estimated location.

We do not sell or share Personal Information of consumers we actually know are under 16. An opt-in can be withdrawn at any time. After an opt-out, we wait at least twelve months before asking you to reauthorize sale or sharing.

Sensitive Personal Information

We do not use sensitive Personal Information to select marketing recipients, target advertising or infer protected characteristics for advertising. This includes religious or political beliefs, health information and sensitive content in posts, profiles or messages. Marketing can address entire lists or groups based on non-sensitive account information such as subscriber status, subject to marketing preferences and law.

California gives you the right to limit certain uses and disclosures of sensitive Personal Information beyond permitted purposes, such as providing requested services. To exercise that right where applicable or ask about our handling of this information, email privacy@babylonbee.com .

Your California rights

• Know and access: Request the categories and specific pieces of information collected about you, sources, purposes and recipient categories. Where applicable, request separate lists of categories sold, shared or disclosed for a business purpose and the recipient categories for each.
• Correct: Request correction of inaccurate Personal Information.
• Delete: Request deletion, subject to legal exceptions, including those for requested services, security, legal obligations and the rights of others. We delete or de-identify information not covered by an exception and notify service providers, contractors and other recipients where required. See retention and backup handling.
• Portability: Receive information in a readily usable format that allows transfer to another entity without hindrance, where technically feasible.
• Opt out and limit: Exercise the sale/sharing and sensitive-information rights above.
• No discrimination: Exercise rights without unlawful denial of services, different prices or quality, or retaliation. Any permitted financial-incentive program will have its own notice, a value-related basis and voluntary opt-in that you can revoke.

Submitting and verifying requests

Email privacy@babylonbee.com or use our contact form and select “Privacy request.” Describe the request and account or information concerned. Do not send passwords or full payment-card numbers. No new account is required. You can also submit a request for your minor child or through an authorized agent.

For access, correction and deletion, we verify identity or authority using information reasonably necessary to match our records. An agent may need proof of permission, and we may need to confirm authority or identity directly with you as allowed by law. If we cannot verify a request, we explain that rather than disclose someone else’s information. Information supplied for a request is used to verify, fulfill and document it as permitted by law.

California generally requires up to two access or portability responses in twelve months. You can request information from before the preceding twelve months, dating back to January 1, 2022, subject to applicable exceptions.

Timing, fees and review

We confirm access, correction and deletion requests within ten business days and respond within 45 calendar days of receipt. A permitted extension of up to 45 additional days will be explained within the initial period. We process sale/sharing opt-outs and applicable sensitive-information limit requests as soon as feasible and no later than 15 business days.

Responses are delivered through your account or, if you do not have one, by mail or electronically at your choice. Requests are normally free; a reasonable fee or refusal for manifestly unfounded or excessive requests applies only where permitted by law, with an explanation. If we cannot fulfill a request, we explain the reason and any applicable review options. You can ask us to review a decision through the privacy email or contact the California Privacy Protection Agency or Attorney General directly.

Other California rights

Under California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code § 1798.83), you can request information about certain disclosures for third-party direct marketing by emailing our privacy address. California residents under 18 who are registered users may request removal of content they posted, subject to statutory exceptions and limits on complete removal. This right does not authorize an underage account prohibited by our Terms of Use.
