CHARLOTTE, NC — Advertisements popped up all across the city this week for a local speakeasy, The Hush Room, modeled as a completely discreet and hidden Prohibition-era bar that no one knows about.

Posters, radio, and television advertisements promoted the speakeasy, all of which reminded people that they could only learn about The Hush Room through word of mouth. The establishment also helpfully placed a sandwich board outside with "COME TO OUR SPEAKEASY" written on it in chalk, with an arrow pointing in the direction of the secret entrance.

"You've got to know someone," stated an enormous billboard ad on the side of I-485. The giant ad helpfully provided a small map to the speakeasy, stating that it's right next to Church's Chicken. "You can't miss it!"

According to its widely published Yelp reviews, The Hush Room features a bouncer at the door to assess if a potential patron really belongs at the speakeasy. "It's really easy. I just let everyone in and give them flyers to pass out," explained the bouncer, Jeremy Holland. "I still pretend to look at a list to make it seem cool. It's just a blank page that I doodle on when I'm bored."

At publishing time, The Hush Room had begun offering its own secret moonshine, which it said would also be available in stores.
