NASHVILLE, TN - Stating the company expects the product to fly off store shelves, LifeWay Christian Resources announced a new line of LifeWay-branded selfie sticks Thursday, specifically targeted at short-term missionaries in need of an easier way to take thousands of pictures of themselves doing missions in third-world countries.

According to the announcement posted on LifeWay's website, the selfie sticks will come in seventeen different colors, and are completely customizable with options to laser-etch one's name, the country the team is touring, or the missions trip's theme verse, with a wide range of passages like Romans 10:14-15, Luke 10:2, and Isaiah 6:8 to choose from.

"We saw a need, and we acted," LifeWay president Thom Rainer told reporters. "We noticed many short-term missionaries going to build a shoddy dormitory or second-rate basketball court at an orphanage somewhere were having difficulty getting as many smiling kids in their pictures as possible. Now, students on missions trips can squeeze every last orphan or hungry child into each of their photos uploaded to Instagram."

"We're just happy to meet this need of our young people going out to help the world in so many ways," Rainer added.

LifeWay also confirmed the line of stores would be releasing a deluxe edition of the short-term missionary selfie stick that includes a satellite transmitter for instant upload of pictures taken to Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter.
